the name.

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”

“Well, I don’t know. I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I was never able to believe it. A rose just couldn’t smell as sweet if it were a thistle, or a skunk-cabbage.”

One of the most important parts to me in planning this blog was the name. I’m very much a detail-person, and I love things that have meaning behind them, especially names. For some reason, it just makes it more special to me… like a secret treasure that only those who are looking for can find. I wanted the name to be something meaningful, something unique, and something that sounds beautiful.

When I was looking through magazines, books, and CD & DVD inserts for inspiration, I came across ‘Red Said Paisley’, the title of that month’s devotional column in an issue of (the now closed) Brio magazine. I re-read the article and knew that it fit exactly what I was looking for. So, I contacted the author, Natalie Lloyd, to ask for permission to use it, and she gave it willingly! 😀 (visit her blog here)

Here is the article.
